Crimshaw shards respawning

crimshaw shard seemed to respawn. In the level of gerald, I found the shaft leading to him immediately at the start of the game. I had picked up the crimshaw shard at the start before I went into the shaft. I eventually went through the level backwards, and when I was at the beginning again, it had respawned. I could loot it for a total of three times by simply going through the level.
This also seems to apply to whatever objects were in the room, somehow resetting to their initial location, somewhat breaking immersion.
